Approved Time Table For 2017/2018 Students Union Election

We are using this medium to inform everyone that the time-table for 2017/2018 Students Union Election has been approved. The Memo reads:

At its meeting held on Tuesday, 20th June, 2017, the above Committee adopted 2017/2018 Students’ Union Election time-table as approved by the Rector after some modifications.

The adopted time table is hereby attached for publicity in your various Faculties, Department and Notice Boards.

• Preliminary meeting to decide strategies for conduct of the 2017/2018 SUE and Senate election – Tuesday, 20th June, 2017
• Slaes of Application Forms – Friday, 23rd June – Thursday, 6th July, 2017
• Commencement of campaign by contestants -Wednesday, 28th June, 2017
• Closing date for submission of completed application form – Thursday, 6th July, 2017
• Display of list of candidates on notice boards – Fiday, 7th July, 2017
• Screening of candidates – Tuesday, 11th July, 2017
• –(a)Consideration of Petition on screening – Thursday, 13th July, 2017
• –(b) Display of approved list of candidates – Friday, 14th July, 2017
• Press day and Manifesto Day – Tuesday, 18th July, 2017
• Election Day for SUE – Wednesday 19th July, 2017
• Deadline for submission of complaints on SUE Election – Friday, 21st July, 2017
• Election day for SRC – Friday, 21th July, 2017
• Deadline for submission of complaints on SENATE Election – Monday, 24th July, 2017
• Consideration of all Election Petitions (SUE/SENATE Elections) – Tuesday, 25th July, 2017
• Seminar for all Elected SUE/Senate – Wednesday, 2nd – Thursday, 3rd Aug., 2017
• Swearing-in of all Elected SUE/Senate – Friday, 4th Aug., 2017

Also, students/campaigning candidates are hereby banned from using digital banners, motorcade, and pasting posters on walls of offices, lecture theaters, and classrooms.
