Concerned Students: We Need The Breakdown Of Our School Fee!

A broadcast was released today by some concerned students of the institution claiming that students are being extorted and also urge all students to come out en-mass to demonstrate peaceful protest.

They said we are in school to learn and so therefore we should just bow our heads and let our whole lives pass us by…
While management is still carrying out its own extortion…some unscrupulous element like junior staff often extort student..

We pay a huge amount of money as school fee, the breakdown of which we don’t have, then there come a compulsory insurance fee which we the student know nothing about because so far so good victim (student) has never be rewarded.

They also compulsory internet access fee on us, the programme to which there is no enough facilities, we all subscribe on daily basis. We therefore no longer need the school internet. They talk of EED in which years back it’s #200 – #300, now we are paying #2770, what has happened? As if that isn’t enough, when you get to your field of choice, you still pay money to register, they lied on certificate that they never give anyone.

Years back, file collection was free but today, student pay #1000-#2000 to obtain file, same goes to 4 5in1 notebooks, today you pay #2,000 after being on a queue for more than a day.

What happened to medical, last year it was 3k+ while 4k+ today, on top which when you visit Medical Center for complaint, hardly will they attend to you and if they eventually do, they never have any drug to administer to you.

PolyIBADAN hasn’t eaten more than he can bite by admitting students without providing them conducive environment, go to virtually all the departments in PolyIBADAN and you will be surprised with what you see, student of 1,000-2,000 are receiving lecture in a class designed for 200-300 students, and some don’t even have class, they are being scheduled to received lecture at noon when others are done using the same class.[adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

Also, what happened with the #300 we paid on every transaction, in PolyIBADAN even if you are paying #1000, there will be bank charges of #300 on it. This happened on all transactions, in which we have more than 7 transactions taking place in a semester.

Furthermore, why has DPP opened portal for some students and failed to open for others? When students go there to complain, they were told to bring cash, of which instead of collecting 45850 which is the school fee, they ended up collecting 46k.

And finally, why is faculty collecting money as high as 3-4k just for file submission and department collecting same for the same purpose when some departments hardly received three lectures in a week and some are yet to even see their first semester result talk-less of second semester.

After all these rubbish payment we still have the nonsense association fee. Just of recent, we heard of a department collecting #4,200 for departmental association fee, something that is supposed to be optional yet the egocentric people at the faculty will not register you without any of the association receipt…

If PolyIBADAN is the school to breed tomorrow future, then I concur that the future will only be led by corrupt politician because students don’t have anything like RIGHT and once the management heard you complaining or challenging them, they start threatening you with being EXPELLED. And when you go on to protest, they change your theme and hijacked peaceful protest just to stop the world from knowing their anomalies.

Are we now just going to sit down and fold our arms… NO!!!… We need the break down of our school fee, we want to know what it entails. We want to know what we are paying for and why we are paying for it. We want this extortion to stop.

SUG of polyibadan are non-existent, they are management pets, all they kept clamouring is 3C.
School fee was increased…..3C,
Internet access and health insurance…………….. 3C
They are cowards who failed to represent the student that voted them in power, they can’t even fight for themselves talk-less of fighting for student… So Abeg ignore them. Let the student be their own voice.

In view of this, let us the concerned student of PolyIBADAN come out en-mass to demonstrate peaceful protest…

Let’s not forget how management has on several occasions hijacked the various previous peaceful protest.
