Report Of Meeting Held With VSESC Officials Concerning High Levies Imposed

With regards to the meeting which was held by the Students’ Union executives and the press crew yesterday (March 16) with the VSESC Officials at the VSESC conference room concerning the high levies imposed EED registration, the Director gave a thorough explanation about the EED registration, the dues and levies expected to be paid. While speaking in a meeting held at the conference room, VSESC on the 16th of march, 2018 with the Students’ Union executives  and Press members of  The Polytechnic, Ibadan, the director Of vocational skill and entrepreneurship study centre,  Alhaji W.A. Bolaji gave a thorough explanation about the entrepreneurship education(EED) registration and the dues and levies expected to be paid. 

The meeting which had in attendance, the other officials from the centre, Mrs. F. Adedeji (Auditor), the chief accountant  Mr Dolapo Kosoko, the assistant Director, Dr. J.J  Olajide and the deputy registrar (VSESC) Mr Adeolu Ojo, the student Union executives present were the President Com. Kuyoro  Olumuyiwa Emmanuel, the assistant General secretary, Com. Abayomi Ayomide the treasurer, Com. Oladosu Eunice, the Financial secretary Com. Bello Opeyemi, the Auditor, Com. Shekoni among others, with the Press crew in attendance.

In the words of the Director, who took the lead in opening the essence and reason for the meeting (gathering) which was as a result of the request made by the Student Union Government to know the breakdown of EED payment dues and levies. The director made it known that there is a difference between levies and fees. 

Fees are the ones included in the breakdown of the tuition fee and levies are the ones students are to pay while doing their registration. 

He further talked about the necessity of the payment which enables students to acquire the vocational skills and getting the result of their exams quickly. 

He said, EED practical has classification or otherwise known as its breakdown, he highlighted; training manual, logbook, technical manual(for each trade), e-examination and that the centre only have fifteen (15) trades available for now. 

He also made it clear that ND2 and HND 2 students will be issued certificate and that all of these really cost money.

    Pls note that, Vsesc usually ask for payment of result, after it as been charged before pls kindly follow up so that all graduating students should not pay for certificate again…

    please what is the main point now, cus I don’t understand all this, can we pay now or we should still suspend it
