Election Held At Ramat Hall Of Residence

Ramat hall is one of the beautiful halls located at the north campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. It consists of four (4) blocks lettered from A-D. It is a female hostel with a colourful design that attract the eyes, no doubting the occupants of the halls are known to be addressed as the most beautiful on campus. [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

The election which started at about 4PM at Ramat small field  behind block B which was supervised by the portals who were the electoral officers arranged the ballot boxes on a long-table and all Ramatarian (as they are fondly called) were instructed to come and exercise their franchise by voting the candidate of their choice.

“We are to vote for three (3) posts i.e. Social Director, Welfare And Chairperson since the other posts contestants had no opponent and so will be returned unopposed”, said the electoral officer.  Residents from different blocks were trooping  out to vote for the contestant of their choice.

The first post was tussled out between Adesina Ifeoluwa and Bolarinwa Yetunde for the office of the Social Director. Falayi Eniola and Olujide Damilola as the contestants for Welfare and Oladapo Eniola Oluwafunmilayo and Salu Oluwatomiwa contestants  for Chairperson.

The election stopped after the interested and available students’ voted, then counting of election papers followed immediately.

Results are as follows:

Social Directors:

• ADESINA IFEOLUWA  with 138 votes
• BOLARINWA YETUNDE with 42 votes

Welfare

•  FALAYI ENIOLA with 102 votes
•  OLUJIDE DAMILOLA with 80 votes

CHAIRPERSON (H.M.C)

• OLADIPO OLUWAFUNMILAYO with 130 votes
• SALU OLUWATOMIWA with 55 votes

The celebration follows with popping of champagne and shouts of joy for the winners while some of the losers congratulate their opponents.

The winner for the chairperson post in person of OLADIPO OLUWATOMIWA gave her of appreciation and she was carried up in the flares of the celebration.
