Students’ Union Election Postponed

In the meeting held yesterday 31st July, 2018 by the Students’ Union Electoral Committee at the Old Board of Studies building, the Students’ Union election time-table was reviewed and has been rescheduled.

The new timetable was announced to the members of the committee present at the meeting which only lasted about an hour. The changes were pronounced due to the consideration of appeal letter sent to the Students’ Affairs from the Students’ Union Executives. These changes in-turn affects other dates which are to come prior to the election day.

Below is the new election time table:

  • ==> Collection of Nomination forms – Tuesday, 7th August, 2018
  • ==> Closing Date for submission of Nomination forms – Tuesday, 7th August, 2018
  • ==> Display of list of Candidates on Notice boards – Wednesday, 8th August, 2018
  • ==> Meeting with Candidates – Monday, 13th August, 2018
  • ==> Screening of Candidates – Monday, 14th August, 2018

  • ==> Display of Approved list of Candidates – Wednesday, 15th August, 2018
  • ==> Consideration of petition on result of screening – Thursday, 16th, August 2018
  • ==> Commencement of Campaign by contestants – Friday, 17th August, 2018
  • ==> Submission of photographs and lists of contestant’s agents – Friday, 24th August, 2018
  • ==> Press day and manifesto day – Tuesday, 28th August, 2018
  • ==> Election Day for SUE – Wednesday, 29th August, 2018
  • ==> Deadline for submission of complaints on SUE election – Friday, 31st August 2018
  • ==> Election Day for Senate – Friday, 31st August, 2018
  • ==> Deadline for submission of complaints on Senate Election – Monday, 3rd September, 2018
  • ==> Consideration of all Election petitions (SUE /SENATE) – Tuesday 4th September, 2018
  • ==> Seminar for all Elected SUE/SENATE – Wednesday, 26th August, 2018
  • ==> Swearing-in of all Elected SUE/SENATE – Friday 28th September, 2018

NOTE: Contestants are hereby implored to strictly abide by the rules of the electioneering process as anyone found guilty would be disqualified.
