DPP Students Are Bonafide Students — Management Debunked Fake News

The management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has debunked the news being circulated on the popular messaging platform, WhatsApp among PolyIBADAN Students claiming the institution has unidentified the Daily Part-time (DPP) students as bonafide students.

The debunked news, circulated on 1st April, 2019 read thus:

THE NEWLY APPOINTED RECTOR OF POLY IBADAN ANNOUNCED THAT THE GOVERNMENT OF AJUMOBI KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT DAILY PART TIME PROGRAM(DPP). THAT THE FORMER ADMINISTRATORS OF THE SCHOOL WERE EXTORTING MONEY FROM STUDENTS. HENCEFORTH, NO DPP STUDENTS IS IDENTIFIED AS A BONAFIDE STUDENT OF THIS GREAT INSTITUTION.

ALL DPP STUDENTS ARE ADVICED TO WITHDRAW AND SHOULD ALSO COME TO THE BURSARY WITH ORIGINAL RECEIPTS FOR COLLECTION OF ALL FEES PAID ALREADY.

HE ALSO SAID THAT THE TUITION FEE FOR ALL FULL TIME STUDENTS HAS BEEN REDUCED. AS THERE WON’T BE ANY PAYMENTS OF 40% IN THE SECOND SEMESTER.

ALL FULL TIME STUDENTS SHOULD THEREFORE PAY THE JUST THE 60% ONLY.

HE SAID IT AFTER A CLOSE DOOR MEETING WITH SOME TOP ADMINISTRATIVE HEADS, THE FACULTY DEANS, THE CSO, THE DEAN STUDENT AFFAIRS, AND SUG EXCO.

Our source confirmed it was said that the broadcast message was just a mere propaganda, and the usual prank of April Fool, and the content therein in the broadcast are far from the truth, and students should desist from sharing it. [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

It was further said, that the new Rector met with the core management of the institution on 1st April 2019, and nothing of such was discussed.

Hence, the management said, the DPP students are bonafide students of the institution and no DPP programme has been scrapped as few students who did National Diploma (ND) DPP are currently running their Higher National Diploma (HND) DPP programme.
