SUG Vice President 1 & Welfare Director 1 IMPEACHED!

The Senate House of the Students’ Union Government of the institution has impeached Adediran Adedoyin, the Welfare Director 1, and Ekanola Oluwatosin Damilola, the Vice President 1 on the account of misconduct, misappropriation, diversion and embezzlement of the Union’s funds.

This impeachment was contained in a letter (Full text below) signed by the Senate President, Sen. Bello Rahmoni, and the Clerk, Sen. Onyeogani Wilson, which was addressed to the Press Council on Monday, the 1st day of July 2019, following the plenary session held on the Friday, 28th day of June 2019 at North Campus.

The Senate House found the two executives, Adediran Adedoyin, the Welfare Director 1, and Ekanola Oluwatosin Damilola, the Vice President 1, guilty of the aforementioned offences as stated in the constitution of the Students’ Union Government, of The Polytechnic, Ibadan (Review 2012), Section 21, sub-section 1, Article A and B, stated below:

==> A. Misappropriation of Union and other Union accrued fund.
==> B. Embezzlement of the Union Fund [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

The punishment for such offences was backed by the constitution as quoted in Section 1, sub-section 2, Article A and B, stated below:

==>A. Refund of the misappropriated fund within 96 hours and impeachment of such officer if found guilty.
==>B. However, in the event of failure to refund the misappropriated fund, the case shall be reported to the appropriate organ of the institution for necessary disciplinary action.

Hence, necessary steps are being taken to recover the Union’s fund and melt out necessary disciplinary actions.

NOTIFICATION OF IMPEACHMENT

The Senate House of The Students’ Union Government, The Polytechnic, Ibadan writes to inform your office with profound sense of fear in our heart, for our institution, for our nation, for our individual liberty and for the entire students, that some members of the student union executives have been impeached at a meeting of the Senate House which was held on 28 of June, 2019, based on their act of misconduct, misappropriation, diversion and embezzlement of union funds in their possession.

The Senate House, in a purely partisan vote backed and strongly – armed by the most extreme elements of the constitution and the will of the entire student of this great citadel of learning, impeach the Vice President 1 and the Welfare Director 1 of the Students’ Union Government.

The impeachment was created to protect the institution image and the entire students from tyranny (unreasonable) and thieves who believes their personal gains is more than that of the students they promised to represent.

Their impeachment is based on the constitution of the Students Union Government, of The Polytechnic, Ibadan (Review 2012) and stated in section 21, sub-section I, Article A and B,

PUNISHABLE OFFENCES FOR STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT

(a) MISAPPROPRIATION OF UNION AND OTHER UNION ACCRUED FUND

(b) EMBEZZLEMENT OF THE UNION FUND

And THE PUNISHMENT as quoted in section 1, sub-section 2, article A and B states,

(a) Refund of the misappropriated fund within 96 hours and impeachment of such officer if found guilty.
(b) However, in the event of failure to refund the misappropriated fund, the case shall be reported to the appropriate organ of the institution for necessary disciplinary action.
