Press Council Chairman, Kolade Ademola, Unveiled as PolyIBADAN SkillNG Ambassador

SkillNG, in collaboration with Press Council, The Polytechnic, Ibadan organized a one-day Entrepreneurship Skills workshop for the students of the institution on 3rd August, 2019 at Tetfund Building, South Campus of the Institution.

The workshop themed “Making Sense of Student Entrepreneurship” had two successful entrepreneurs; Mr. Ore Afolayan, CEO of TOA Marketing, and Mr. Kehinde Muraina, CEO of Adam’s Street Treats, to discuss about the challenges, and prospects of Student entrepreneurship, and also to officially unveil The Polytechnic, Ibadan SkillNG Campus ambassador.

In his welcome address, the Marketing Manager at SkillNG, Mr Gafar Oriyomi Sulaiman, expressed his satisfaction over the turn out of participants for the programme. He furthered that, SkillNG is a skill development and talent management start-up that provides young people the avenue to learn the globally most in-demand digital and entrepreneurship skills by connecting learners to professional skilled tutors and critical learning materials through a peer-to-peer learning network.

Speaking on the topic “Making sense of students entrepreneurship”, the first speaker, Mr. Ore Afolayan, discussed about the importance of marketing in entrepreneurship, stating examples that, many start-ups entrepreneurs get tired because they don’t have the marketing strategy to pull and pitch their ideas. [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

In addition, the second speaker, Mr. Kehinde Muraina, discussed about the Basic ethics and Know-how of entrepreneur, and how, as a students, be able to be a successful entrepreneur. He furthered on how to discover problems as an entrepreneur and how to convert the problems into opportunities.

To round the Workshop up, Mr. Kolade Malik Ademola, was unveiled as the institution’s SkillNG ambassador, where afterwards, he gave a short address, expressing his satisfaction on the turn-outs especially when it’s not a social event.

With the workshop, SkillNG has re-stated its commitment to the educational sector by empowering the Nigeria Students with Strategic skills that match them with employment opportunities, or be self sufficient due to the fact that there has been a decline in job availability in Nigeria today.
