The above statement was captured by the PRESS at the matriculation ceremony earlier delivered by the Rector Prof. Fawole. But it’s a shame that this statement only existed as a mirage that would never happen. [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

According to the report gathered by the PRESS, the matric was a beginning of a new era and warmth welcome for  the newly admitted students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. A day to remember, so it was as for these students as fleet of cars drove in at the 1000 capacity hall, located along the South Campus.

However, the joy of some students were marred as sounds of gun shots sounded sporadically as some unknown students began chasing one another towards the North Campus, but were intercepted by the school security personnel who have been notified immediately the uproar started.

As students who were innocently taking pictures at the venue heard sounds of gunshots, they started running without minding what could happen to them but alas some students were hit by an incoming vehicle. Among these students was a pregnant woman who collapsed after a shock including a male student who was also wounded.

However, these students were rushed down to the school Health Centre for proper care. The report gathered from the medical personnel made it known that the injuries are minor. Thereby making it clear that they will get well soon as they are rapidly responding to treatment.

In like manner, there were several tumultuous reactions at the North Campus area where some students were reportedly seen attacking one another with the aim of creating violence at the love garden. The security personnel were able to intervene in the matter after which they successfully liaised with them and finally made them vacate from the campus in which they were later seen heading towards Apete.
