Health Benefits of Water

Water is the main component of the human body. In fact, the body is composed of between 55 and 78 percent water, depending on body size. Adequate and regular water consumption has numerous health benefits. As an added plus, it has no calories, fat, carbohydrates or sugar and drinking a lot of water is actually a life saver.

Recent studies have shown that drinking three glasses of water early in the morning before meal can help to burn fat in the body. It also helps to maintain the balance of the body fluids which functions include digestion, absorption, circulation, and creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients and maintenance of the body temperature.

Drinking water in the morning also helps to remove toxins and other waste from the body. When one is low on fluids, the brain triggers the body’s thirst mechanism and that is when a person feels thirsty and feel like drinking water, the solution to this thirst is to drink water, juice, milk, coffee or anything, but alcohol not advised.

Water is an appetite suppressant and also helps the body in breaking down stored fat. When the kidney does not have enough water they cannot function properly, by then, the liver steps in as a backup but in doing so hinders its ability to breakdown fat effectively, the fat thus remains stored in the body and that contributes to weight gain so, to avoid this it is expedient to drink a lot of water regularly.
