Payment Of SUG Due Likely To Be Moved Online

The Legislative arm of the Students’ Union Government – Students’ Representative Council, on Wednesday, 28th November, 2018, called the Students Union Executives to the Parliament at GC 2, North Campus on the basis of Accountability, Stewardship, Planning, and welfare of the entirety of the students next session.

The parliamentary session which was tagged “Emergency” stretched for over six hours, and saw the principal officers of the SUE – President, General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Welfare Director, and Treasurer – being called to the dock.

Among the issues deliberated were the transition of documents from the previous administration to the recent one, Mode of payment of SUG due, School fees and other necessary fees, including the welfare of the students – what they are to benefit from the coming administration next session.

The SUE President, Com. Akadiri Bayonle Seun, during his questioning, discussed at length about the need to ease the students, relieve them of stress of registration and proper accountability on the part of the union, where he proposed the mode of payment of the due to be online. The Senate houses presided by the senate president, Senator Bello Rahmoni Olanrewaju, concluded that it’s not a proposal until the Executives writes the Senate house.

In the same vein, the other offices were summoned, and the necessary questions of the aforementioned subject matter were asked.

In the early hour of the evening, the SUE executives were dismissed, and the session was brought to an end.
