PolyIBADAN Now Using 4.0 Grade Point

The 3rd day of orientation programme for fresh students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan commenced at about 10:30 am, and was declared opened by the Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr Sikiru Adetona .

In his address at the programme, he encouraged the students not to forget the various instructions and motivations given to them by the speakers through out the orientation programme. He also emphasized more on the dressing code by urging them to always be decently dressed within the school vicinity.

The first lecture which was delivered by Mr Kehinde Moradeyo explains more on Registration and Result Computation Procedure. He said students’ registration processes entail systematic procedures which offer students seats in the institution. According to him, Registration starts by acceptance fee payment, academic clearance and bio-metric process. Student were advised to pay their school fee on time, register courses and submit.

Also, while reinstating the need for early registration, freshers were advised not to remove any course in their first semester. He said students should register their courses themselves. 

He stated further “Any student that score below 1.5 at the beginning of 1st semester shall be placed on warning during the following semester, if fail to achieve a CGPA of at least 1.5 will be withdrawn”. He said PolyIBADAN is now using a 4.0 grade point. [adinserter name=”Block 3″][adinserter name=”Block 2″]

Distinction ==> 3.5 – 4.0
Upper credit ==> 3.0 – 3.49
Lower credit ==> 2.5 – 2.99
Pass ==> 2.0 – 2.49
Fail ==> 0.0 – 1.99

Furthermore, He said a site has just been launched for student that have issues with their registration. According to him, instead of going to CIDM, students can easily go online and lodge their complaint and afterwards go back in after 48hrs.

He stated further that the website URL is http://www.polyibadan.edu.ng. Full time students should login through their jamb registration number and their password while DPP with their form number and password. The lecturer stated that the Implication for not registering on time includes: Delay in updating profile, delay in result processing, delay in notification of result processing, as well as delay to meet up with NYSC posting, and inability to graduate.

He emphasized further, “Once your name is not on the score sheet for first semester year one, you may not graduate with others.” He concluded that Wisdom is knowing what is right and doing it.

The Second lecture which was delivered by the Students’ Union President, Com. Bayonle Akadiri reinstated on the primary assignment of every student which is education. The event featured music presentation by the Music technology department. Also, the matriculation date was announced to be held on 22nd of March, 2019.

  4. y’all would increase our G.p and later reduce it again,y’all are just messing with our scores and the marking scheme,its not a development

  6. Despite that the GP was brought down from 5.0 to 4.0…
    We still don’t have any Stated reason for this. This should be addressed by the institution I guess..

  7. MAke poly change 2018 set CGPA too to 4.0 oo. at least it will help some.
